I grew up in Hardwick, Vermont, the youngest of three, and the only girl for three generations in the Leslie family. I was surrounded by art—my mother is a weaver (Ruby Leslie) and my father a painter and art professor at Johnson State College (Ken Leslie).
I graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in English and Art, primarily fusing the two together to make comics. I have lived for periods of time in Argentina, Ghana and Malta, though I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY. Previous news-worthy art gigs include publishing a tiny book with One Page Productions, working for cartoonist Alison Bechdel doing editing and color work for her book Are You My Mother, and teaching amazing Vermont high school students at the Governor's Institute on the Arts each summer.
